What draws people to military reenacting? For many, it is at least partially the desire to re-capture, or simply experience, the camaraderie that military life often engenders. A sense of common purpose, sharing discomforts, overcoming challenges, and honoring traditions and those who came before us can all be parts of that, and summed up as "esprit de corps."

Battery I seeks to provide its members with a full emersion, "campaign" level field artillery experience. Leave your cell phones, Slim Jims, cots and backpackers' expresso makers at home!  Come ready and willing to eat hardtack and hellfire stew, drink often scorched coffee, stand guard duty at 2 A.M., sleep cold and occasionally wet, and drill, drill, drill. We're not promising a rose garden!

We endure these things because from 1861 to 1865, the boys of Battery I did. If we all throw our hearts into it and experience this life to its fullest, we can expect to be rewarded occasionally with fleeting insights into how the Civil War soldier experienced his life: how it "felt." We believe this the truest reward in reenacting. If this sounds like what you are looking for, mash that button below and enlist today!
